Biography

Allen's research interests lie in the interplay between the molecular mechanisms of human physiology and their emergent properties. This interest has carried his career across a multitude of subjects and disciplines including but not limited to neruo-muscular exercise physiology, cellular calcium signaling & calmodulin, oncogenic gene regulation, molecular hearing loss, and cystic fibrosis. 

In the lab his robust skill set enables him to assist with and amplify the work done by his more specialized coworkers. His skills include but are not limited to genetic modification, various cell culturing techniques, tissue engineering, molecular biology, data management, physical/electronic lab organization, and graphic/web design.

Outside of the lab he enjoys cooking, building computers, backpacking, exercising, and building memories with his family.
